Link analytics you can actually question

How many clicks, from where, on which device, from which campaign: every link has its numbers, and the criteria cross with each other. No cookies, and your visitors’ IP addresses are never kept.

Dimensions

What a click tells you

Every click is filed under some fifteen criteria, and each one can filter all the others.

  • Where

The country and continent, worked out at click time.

    FranceEurope
  • On what

The device type, operating system and browser.

    MobileiOSSafari
  • From where

The site that sent the visitor, and the channel: a click or a QR scan.

    instagram.comQR scan
  • For which campaign

The link’s UTM parameters: source, medium and campaign.

    newsletterback-to-school
  • In which language

The browser’s language, so you know who you are talking to.

    EnglishFrench
  • By which path

The A/B variant, the routing rule applied, the domain and the link’s tags.

The dashboard

Built to answer, not to decorate

  • Criteria that cross

Filter on France, then look at devices: each view answers the question asked, not an average of everyone.

  • Real time

The last thirty minutes, refreshed continuously, to watch the clicks of a send-out or a post come in.

  • Against the period before

Over 7, 28 or 90 days, every figure is set against the previous period, by the hour or by the day.

  • Scans apart

A QR scan is counted as a scan: you know what the poster brought in, and what the link did. The dynamic QR code.

  • Bots kept out

Bots and crawlers are recognised and counted apart. You can show them, but they never enter your totals.

  • CSV export

Every dimension of the period shown, not just the dashboard’s, in a file that opens anywhere.

Privacy

Numbers, not surveillance

These analytics do without what most tools collect, and that is on purpose.

  • No cookies

Someone who follows your link receives no cookie and no ad ID, and nothing is stored on their device.

  • No IP address kept

The IP address is used once, at click time, to work out a country and a salted fingerprint that counts unique visitors. It is never written to the database.

  • Hosted in the EU

The data is stored in Germany and never sold, to an ad network or to anyone else.

  • Retention, stated

Click-by-click detail is kept for 90 days, daily totals for good. The interface tells you when a question reaches past that window.

Frequently asked

Do I need a cookie banner to track clicks?

Not for the redirect itself: a Klyk link sets no cookie and reads nothing on your visitors’ devices. What we process, and why, is set out in our privacy policy.

How do you count unique visitors without cookies?

With a salted fingerprint, computed at click time from the IP address and the browser. It is used to count unique visitors and set duplicates aside, and the IP address itself is never stored.

How long are analytics kept?

Daily totals are kept for good. The click-by-click detail, the one that lets you cross two criteria, is kept for 90 days, and the interface says so when a question reaches past that window.

Are QR code scans counted?

Yes, and separately: a Klyk QR code marks the visits it produces. You see scans next to clicks, with the same criteria.

Can I export my analytics?

Yes, to CSV, over the period shown. Every dimension is in it, not just the dashboard’s.

Do bots skew the numbers?

No: they are recognised and counted apart. You can show them to see where they come from, but they never enter your totals.
